Working Rights

Current rate: $24.1/hr

Must be paid for all hours worked

Includes cash-in-hand work

Superannuation on top (AU only)

Max 38 hours/week (ordinary hours)

Overtime must be paid extra

Right to refuse unreasonable overtime

Rest break between shifts required

30 min break for 5+ hours worked

10 min paid rest for every 4 hours

Meal breaks are generally unpaid

Cannot be forced to skip breaks

Right to a payslip each pay period

Cannot be fired for complaining

Right to join a union

Protected from discrimination

Unpaid trial shifts (illegal!)

Being paid in goods not cash

No payslip = red flag
